My name is Jessica Carswel. I hold a degree in Zoology and Environmental Biology from the University of Calabar, Nigeria.

I have a passion for transforming ideas into reality, driven by an open mind and a willingness to learn—and unlearn—along the way. This mindset has fueled my entrepreneurial spirit, leading me to launch and manage several businesses over the past four years.

Through this journey of hands-on involvement, brainstorming, continuous learning, exploration, and practical experience, I have developed strong skills in budgeting, leadership, communication, management, and financial analysis.

Recognizing the potential of the mushroom industry—where craftsmanship plays a key role and businesses can be launched without significant start-up capital—I embarked on and successfully completed an intensive mushroom cultivation training program with CHERISH MZKATHY AGRO AND ALLIED VENTURES in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. This opportunity, made possible through Skills and Business for Africa, greatly enhanced my knowledge and technical expertise in mushroom farming.

This journey led to the founding of AJ Terra Fungi—a business dedicated to cultivating healthy, nutritious mushrooms for everyone.
